
MORCROFT, Ladyne Wilma (Metzger) of Fort Lauderdale, FL died on May 5, 2012 at the age of 89. Beloved wife of Ralph Alexander Morcroft. Devoted mother of Keith Gilbert Morcroft, Marylyn Toy Morcroft of Ft. Lauderdale, Charles Randal Morcroft, his wife Karen (Littlecott) Morcroft of Boca Raton, grandmother of Kathryn "Katy" Toy Morcroft, Jeffrey Alan Morcroft and Samantha Anne Morcroft. Great grandmother of Cecilia Hernandez. Ladyne is the daughter of Dr. Charles F. Metzger and Emma Alberta (Frederick) Metzger, brother of Dr. Charles W. Metzger. The family will miss Mum's common sense, work ethic, care for everyone and honor, dignity, intellect, sense of humor, conservatism, music & dancing to the jitterbug, all the while caring for all in the name of Jesus and in her bible studies. Her days were spent with the love of her life since age 16. Always working alongside her husband, as Air Force Captain and OSS officer, Chief of Police, owning bowling lanes, car wash and lawn care service, as an NFL umpire, and the GM of the Miami, single "A" farm team of the Baltimore Orioles, and later Director of all Florida operations. Over the past near 50 years she volunteered at First Presbyterian Church of Ft. Lauderdale, as a board member of the Westminster Manor Pink Houses and worked as office staff. Ladyne attended The University of Pittsburgh and Grace Martin Business School. Memorial services will be held Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church of Ft. Lauderdale. Burial will be late July 2012 in the Toy family plot at Uniondale Cemetery Pittsburgh, PA. Flowers and donations may be made in her name to the First Presbyterian Church of Ft.
