Connie, Dana and Jeffrey, I can't express how sad I am to hear of Larry's passing.Larry was a very special man who never changed his values. He was an honest and decent person who you wanted to be with.I was fortunate to have known Larry for 71 years.As he said, we were womb mates. We celebrated our 70 and 71st birthdays together with our wife's. He was a special friend and I was fortunate to have spent all of Jan. 26 together rehashing the past and present and solving the worlds problems. When I think of Uncle Larry I feel his warmth, his playfulness, and his delight in and curiosity about the people around him. These qualities have always helped me appreciate him, beyond the love I've had for him as my uncle. Some of my fondest H.S. memories were sitting around with the boys at the Margolis compound talking smack and Larry being right in the middle of it. I will always remember his contagious laugh and selfless humor. We all were welcomed into their home, whether it was Friend St, Florida or New Hampshire. It was great to see him every summer holding court after the Margolis Open, surrounded by family and friends, doing what he did best -- make you laugh. The best tribute to Larry, my life-long friend, I can think of is to direct you to the book he and our fellow classmates wrote and published last year, THE GREATEST HIGH SCHOOL CLASS, EVER. The first anecdote in the book is authored by Larry and tells how he and Don Arrington were "womb mates." He was very proud of all his classmates for pulling off that historic achievement, and he made a special effort to attend the book signing. I can say with certainty, Larry represents the best in all of his beloved '59ers. His memory will live forever.
