Hart, Laura Peek, 94, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Holy Cross Hospital. She was born September 5, 1919 in Rockmart, GA to the parents of Manco Thomas & Willie (Davis) Peek. Laura formerly lived in St. Augustine, FL before moving to South Florida in 1953. She was a member of the Lauderdale Yacht Club and Junior League and retired from Edgewood Elementary School where she was a teacher. She is survived by her son, Stephen Barret Hart of Ft. Lauderdale; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Blakney Hart and eight brothers and sisters Ida, Flora, Evelyn, Lillian, Paul, James, Billy and Jack. A Graveside Service will be held on January 11, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, 5555 N. Federal Highway, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33308.
