Lawrence was born in New Bern, North Carolina to Thomas and Florence Schmidt, on July 3rd, 1951. He married Marcella on August 12th, 1983, in Hollywood, Florida. He is retired from the United States Postal Service and recently from the City of Hollywood. Lawrence enjoyed sports, boating, fishing and spending time with his family. He was a dedicated family man who was proud to say he never missed a game or school event for his children and grandchildren.
Lawrence is survived by Marcella Schmidt, Alex Schmidt, Andrew Schmidt, Amanda Van Vliet and her husband Rick Van Vliet. He adored his two granddaughters, Arianna Schmidt and Nora Van Vliet. He is survived by his brothers John, James, David and Thomas. He was a devoted husband and loving father, who will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
