

Born in Northwood, Iowa on March 25, 1924, daughter of Winfred M. and Clara L. ( Rustad) Johnson. Raised and educated in Northwood, Lee was one of the American women who were called "Rosie Riverters". They constructed the B-24 Liberators, which were one of the major factors in defeating the Germans in WW II. She moved with family to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1950. Before her retirement, she worked for AT &T for more than 35 years. Lee was Manager of operator services in Hollywood. In her spare time, she was an avid golfer, enjoyed playing bingo and worked on crossword puzzles on a daily basis. Lee loved her family dearly and they will sorely miss her.
Survived by her five loving children, Larry A. Richie, Linda L. (Ronnie) Grubbs, Layne M. (Cheryl) Richie, LuVerne (James) Bobier and Leslie G. (Scott) Whitaker, her adored grandchildren, Scott J.(Robin) Richie, Michael D. Grubbs, Paul A. (Becki) Grubbs, Amy K. Grubbs ( Pete), Brian J. Richie, Blake M. (Niki) Richie, Holly E. (Trevor) Nore, Justin R. (Erica) Scarfeo, Daniela M. (Bradley) Soll, Ryan J. (Natalie) Bobier and Sarah (Lucien) Conner. Also survived by 15 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter., her brother, Warren Johnson. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years, Harold J. Richie, in 1980.
Visitation on Monday, August 29th from 11:00 ~ 1:00 P.M. at Fred Hunters Hollywood Memorial Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
Burial will follow at Hollywood Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
