Lois Ferrell, age 90, was called home to be with the Lord on April 22, 2026. Born in 1935 during the Great Depression, Lois grew up with a strong work ethic and a generous spirit that shaped a life of care for family, friends, and community.
After high school, Lois worked as a seamstress in Union City, New Jersey, where her skill and kindness endeared her to many. In 1954, she married Rudy Macairog. Together, they welcomed a son, Michael, in 1956. After Rudy’s passing, Lois married Delano Ferrell, who survives her and shared 44 years of companionship and love.
Upon moving to Florida, Lois's love for the community saw her enter the hospitality field as a bartender. For over 30 years, she grew to know the lives of each patron, and considered many of them to be lifelong friends. After retiring, Lois's hardworking spirit led her to work at Publix, where she continued to foster relationships with staff and customer alike over the next 20 years.
Lois cherished her family. She is survived by her husband, Delano; her son, Michael and daughter-in-law Cynthia; two grandchildren, Robert and Steven, and their spouses, Kristin and Colleen; and two great-grandchildren, Brielle and Audrey. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Anna. Lois also leaves behind many dear friends and her two beloved cats, Whiskers and Angel.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 10935 S. Military Trl, Boynton Beach, FL 33436 on May 11th at 10:00AM. Her burial will take place at Fred Hunters Memorial Garden at 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, Fl 33024 following the mass.
