

Mrs. South was born in Trelawny, Jamaica West Indies to Evelyn Miller and Daniel Fletcher
on April 13, 1936. She graduated from Bronx Community College. She worked at an Oil
Corporation. She was a member of Bronx Baptist Church, and Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Her hobbies include card making, cooking, and entertaining.
Lyllis is survived by her daughters Althea Preddie, (Horace), Andrea Smith, (John Jr). sisters
Pearl Walker, and Gloria Mullings, brother Everard Grant. Grandchildren, John Smith III,
Ashley Petit, and Jerold Smith. Great grandchildren, Moriah Petit, Noah Petit, and Kaleb
Petit. Also her sister-in-laws and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday August 24th 2024. Funeral service is at 12:00
p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 5391 Johnson Rd, Coconut Creek Florida 33073.
Burial is at Fairway Memorial Gardens at 2:00 p.m.
