Dear Santiago , As Difficult as this time is may you find comfort in knowing that your loved one will always be with you ... and the memories you shared with your loving Mom will always be in your life.

Such a sweet soul my Titi Marianna. Strong in her faith and a very loving person. As a child I watched her take such good care of grandpa, even when he got grumpy with her. Her alcapurrias and chicharron were the best! She will be missed and never forgotten.

My deepest condolences to the Santiago Family.  I will miss my Titi Mariana she was a loving and giving person.  Family was her joy. When I was a kid I was always finding my way to her home because of the warm loving experience I received from my extended family.  She always made me feel like I was one of her own. A home where the aromas from the kitchen seeped through out even the neighbors enjoyed it.  Somehow I never got passed the stove without a plate of “arroz con pollo“ or whatever else she had cooked for the day. She was always there for my dad who suffered from a horrible illness.  Her love will be missed but I know she’s gone to a better home where she will continue to love our Lord. I will miss you Titi.

I have so many sweet memories of my Grandma. Never in my life have I met another human being with so much kindness and love as Grandma.

I remember when she took care of Theresa and I when we had the chicken pox as kids. I remember going over to Grandma and Grandpa's house on the weekend and being greeted by Grandpa’s scratchy beard and Grandma’s soft, joyful embraces. I remember her colorful sundresses. I remember the smell of arroz con gandules, and empanadas cooking in the kitchen. I remember the green beans in their front yard garden. I remember how she would call me C.J.

Grandma makes me remember how much I love my family. Grandma was the sweetest person that I’ve ever known, and I want to honor her. 

After my Memere passed, years ago, I remember coming upon a beautiful poem written by Walt Whitman called Eidolons. 
It frames an Eidolon as being the spirit, the memory, and the imprint left behind by a person who has died. I will remember Grandma Santiago through the lovely family that she has left behind. 

I will love my Grandma always, and I will never forget her eidolon, which remains.
