

The funeral Mass will be held at 12 pm on May 15th at St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church in Pembroke Pines, FL. Visitation will be held from 4pm to 7pm at Fred Hunters Hollywood, FL. Her burial will be held at a later date after cremation.
Maru was born in Barranquilla on August 19, 1950. She graduated from Compañia de Maria La Enseñanza and shortly after moved to the United States.
She was married to Henry Spring on January 11, 1975; they were married for 51 years.
Maru worked as a teacher assistant for Broward County School Board for over 25 years with special needs students. She loved supporting and caring for her students and peers and impacted countless lives. She lived to travel – never turning down an opportunity to visit a new location, loved dancing, music and spending time with her loved ones. Maru was full of life and love. She gave of herself freely without expectation of anything in return. Maru was also actively involved in her church community at St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church. She attended Adoration weekly, Mass almost daily, made rosaries, taught catechism classes, helped run the church religious artifacts store and was involved in several faith groups.
Maru is survived by her husband, Henry Spring, her children Johnathan Spring and Johanna Feeney, her grandchildren, Alex, Leo, Kurt and Lucas, her sisters Martha Spring and Ana Maria Lopez, her brother Jose Luis Carvajalino and her nieces and nephews, Adriana Sorge, Julian Spring, Alex Barraza, Isaac Carjavajlino, Max Carvajalino, Alex Lopez, Logan Spring, Aiden Barraza and Zachary Spring and other friends and family.
