Marie Marthe Michel

Mrs. Marie Marthe Michel was born in Jeremie, Haiti on August 27th, 1934, to parents Camille and Matison. At an early age, she lost both parents and was consequently, raised by her aunt and godmother the late Rosalie Charles.

During her young adulthood years, Marie who became a very strong, devoted, and hard-working woman, moved from Jeremie to Port-au-Prince Haiti, where she met the love of her life, the late Marcel Desir with whom she had 7 children.

Marie Marthe Michel was a loving mother, an affectionate grandmother, and one of the most amazing great grandmothers who ever lived. She had 3 other wonderful siblings; her older sisters Francine, Fanelie and her younger sister Olga who all preceded her in glory. Everyone who knew Marie saw an honest, caring, loving and trustworthy woman.

In 1979, Marie immigrated to Miami Florida, and worked tirelessly until all of her children reunited with her between 1988 and 1996.

Marie was a catholic almost her entire life. In 2013 while in Atlanta Georgia helping her son Ronny managing a supermarket/Restaurant, she gave her life to the Lord Jesus and started attending Christian churches regularly. Marie moved back to Florida in 2016 and stayed with her oldest son Yvon who introduced her to his church (HEBC). Marie became and remained a member of the church until she passed away on November 29, 2023.

Marie left behind a legacy of compassion and unyielding devotion for the future generation. She is survived by her Children: Yvon Desir, Ronny Desir, Caprio Desir, Wilfrid Desir, Macus Desir, Frantz Desir & Marie Michele Philippe; her Stepdaughters and Stepsons: Marcelle Georges, Chrisler Desir, Maryse Desir & family, Marlene Desir & family; her Daughters and Sons in law: Myrtha L. Desir, Marie Alberte B. Desir, Kettia Emetil, Nathalie B. Desir, Groygens Philippe; Shella B Desir; her Grandsons and Granddaughters: Kervin Desir, Nathalie Desir & family, Yvetha Desir, Yvener, Desir, Christopher Desir & family, Jennifer Desir & family, Jonathan Desir, Rubbens Desir & family, Jeffrey Desir, Winfrey Desir & family, Keren Desir & family, Victoria Desir, Macus S.
