Mario Ralph Esposito, Sr., age 93, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at his home in Plantation, Florida with his wife, Barbara (Amitrano) Esposito at his side. Mario and Barbara shared 43 years of marriage together.
Born on January 16, 1922 in New York, N.Y. he was the son of John & Louise Esposito and one of eight children: Jimmy, Ralph, Willie, Gene, Jerry, Rosalie and Mary all who predeceased him.
Mario served proudly as a Machinist's Mate 3rd Class in the United States Navy during World War II, honorably discharged in November of 1945.
Mario will be remembered for his outgoing personality, sense of humor, sincerity, generous giving nature and love of family. He was a success in life as he was able to give his family all that they needed and most of what they wanted. His wife, children and extended family as well as friends and coworkers loved and respected him greatly. He was known to enjoy a good Italian meal, boating, classic movies and westerns and of course Casino slots and scratch-off cards but witnessing the love in his family was by far his greatest joy.
Mario is survived by his spouse, Barbara, their children, Mario Jr. and Ann Marie and his children Barbara (Elliott) and Kenneth in addition to three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Fred Hunter Memorial Gardens, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, FL 33024.
Thanks to the staff and volunteers at Seasons Hospice and Bright Star Care for their help and support.
In lieu of flowers a fund has been set up to thank Mario's nurse for her sincere caring and dedication. Over the past two years she has become more than a caregiver but a much-loved member of our family. She is truly our Angel.
