Marvin Chane, 90, beloved Dad, businessman, world traveler, & longtime Ft. Lauderdale resident passed on today. He was a man who treated everyone with equal respect and friendliness.Marvin was born in 1930 in Philadelphia and upon high school graduation enlisted in the Air Force. Upon his discharge, his career included running his family's Pharmacies, managing a textile mill in Puerto Rico, and after moving our family from Philadelphia in 1972 (& along with his partner, our uncle), turning a sleepy motel into the "Best Dockside Patio Bar & Restaurant", the Bahia Cabana. His pleasures were travelling, discussing business & telling stories, and playing games. Dad said to us many times that he loved his life and that he felt so fortunate for those he met and the experiences that he had.He was predeceased by his parents and our much loved & missed brother, David Chane. He is survived by his children Alan, Barry, & Cheryl Chane and his grandchildren Shelby, Jake, Harrison, & Dylan and his great grandchild Benjamin. He is also survived by Sandra Chane and Joanne Castore Chane.Per Dad's request there will be no services.
