Mary Czerniawski Guadagno passed into heaven at 98 on 19 March 2026 to be greeted by her loving parents Nunzio and Jennie Napoli and husbands Faustine Czerniawski and Anthony Guadagno.
Mary was born in the home of her maternal grandparents, Joseph and Catherine Giardina, in Brooklyn, New York, on the Feast of the Assumption (15 August 1927). She moved to southeast Florida in 1972, where she resided until her death.
Mary was the oldest of three children, the late John Napoli and Catherine Migliorato. Beginning as a pre-teen, she was charged with caring for her siblings, taking on cooking and household chores.
Mary was a most generous soul with a big heart. Her door was always open and table filled to family and friends alike, and she would exhort one and all to mangia, mangia, mangia (eat)!
She is survived by her four children, born of her marriage to Faustine Czerniawski—Richard, Faustine, Walter, and Jennifer Jacques—eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Her family was her treasure, and she was treasured by each of them.
Mary was a woman of incredible strength and beauty. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, watching the Hallmark channel, and people stopping in to visit with her at her home in Century Village.
Family and friends who have graced her table or shared a cup of coffee with her are invited to Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home at 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, FL. on Wednesday, 25 March, from 3:00 – 6:00pm (food and refreshments will follow) to celebrate her life—grieve, reminisce, and comfort each other.
We will send her off on her journey into eternal life on our prayers during a funeral mass conducted at Little Flower Catholic Church on Thursday, 26 March, at 10:30am. Interment to follow the service.
