

Mary Ann Norwood peacefully passed away on May 27, 2019 at Seasons Hospice at Memorial Pembroke in Hollywood, Florida. Mary was born in Carbondale, Pennsylvania on April 12, 1927. She is proceeded in death by her husbands Albert Henry Nyman (deceased 1975) and William Jennings Norwood (deceased 2004), and her son Daniel Albert Nyman (deceased 2017). She is survived by her remaining children John Nyman (and wife Mary Lynn), Jane (Nyman) Green, Susan (Nyman) Ostheim, Ellen (Nyman) DeLoach (and husband Doug), Charles Norwood (and wife Laurie), and Charlene Norwood (and husband Derek), along with her grandchildren Adam (Jenna), Amanda (Craig), Jonathan (Mandy), Sarah (Brian), Katie (Matthew), Daniel (Samantha), Emily (Aaron), Nathan, Brandon, Jeffrey (Sarah), and Rebecca, who all loved their Gram so much. She is also survived by her 13 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Mary retired from Broward County Public Schools where she was an office manager for the processing lab, preparing books for the libraries at all Broward County Schools. She loved her family, hosting large holiday dinners and parties for family and friends. She loved flowers, birds, and babies most of all. She enjoyed life, people and was always willing to offer help and kindness to all. Her faith carried her through both good times and difficult situations. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but especially her family.
Funeral services will be held at Fred Hunter Funeral Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, Florida 33024. Gathering begins at 10:30am with a Memorial service at 11am, officiated by Mary's son-in-law Derek McAleer, Saturday, June 8, 2019.
