Melissa Dianne Alvarez

Melissa Dianne Alvarez, 58, of Winchester, Virginia, passed away on May 15, 2025, in Coral Springs, Florida.

Melissa was born in Dayton, Ohio to Parents unknown on August 31, 1966. She went to Catholic school in Baltimore, Maryland. She married Angel Luis Alvarez Jr. on January 26, 2007, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She graduated from Dominion College with an associate's degree in nursing. She worked as a Baker for Publix for 2 years and The Bushel Stop for over 10 years and Rubbermaid in her youth. She was involved in various charitable groups such as Church by the Glades (feed the city, etc.) and others throughout her life.

Melissa is preceded in death by her adoptive brother Daniel Arnold, uncle Charles Bradford and niece Mandy Arnold.

Melissa is survived by her husband: Angel Luis Alvarez Jr., her children: Katrise Michelle Davis, Glenn Edward Davis III and Liam Grayson Alvarez, her adoptive mother: Gale McKee, her Grandchildren: Joshua Lind, Aaron Lind, and Robin Lind, and her Spiritual family of Lucie Soto and Daniella Bieber, Aunt Dorothy Arnold, Aunt Pauline Bradford, Cousin Jeffrey Bradford, and Terri Taylor.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on June 28, at Church by the Glades, Coral Springs.

The Alvarez family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Richard Polakoff and all his staff at the Primary Care Physicians of South Florida Group, Dr. Leonard Wiener and his staff, Dr. Jim Leung, Primary Nurse Meredith Glassman and all staff at Vitas Healthcare (Hospice), the Pharmacy staff at Publix in Brookside Square, Stacey of AETNA Healthcare, Pastor David Hughes of Church By The Glades and all his staff, and CBG guest speaker Christine Caine. They would also like to extend their thanks to Ms. Tina Lambert - formerly with Kids in Distress, all administrative and teacher staff at Country Hills Elementary, Coral Springs Middle School and Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, with special recognition to Principal Michelle Kefford and Teacher Julia Tezekjian, ALL family and friends, and a very special thank you to everyone able to help with our GoFundMe account (your generosity was overwhelming and appreciated)
