

Mike was born in Miami, FL to Esther and Mac McCorkle (Merton Raymond McCorkle III) on June 8, 1953. He took over the family ice business after his father passed away. For over 40 years, he was the owner/operator first of McCorkle’s Ice and later of Mike’s Ice. He was an avid musician playing the drums in numerous bands, a saltwater fisherman and a longtime fan of the Miami Hurricanes and Miami Dolphins. He was deeply loyal to family and was the first to lend help when needed.
Mike is preceded in death by both parents, Esther and Mac McCorkle.
Mike is survived by two sisters, Barbara Lupton and Kathy Jenkins, nephew Bret Jenkins (wife Tonya Jenkins and great niece Annabelle Jenkins), Nieces Jaimie Jenkins and Carolyn Saft, long-time house-mate Mark Canada and his beloved Doberman Pinscher, Spartacus who was always with him.
Visitation will be at 12:00 pm, Monday, Dec. 28, 2020 at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Monday, Dec. 28, 2020 at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hollywood Memoria Gardens North. Arrangements are by Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home. Due to Covid services are limited to 40 people, however the services will be livestreamed.
