Michael's life was a testament to love, humor, and hard work. He will be remembered as a devoted father, a skilled engineer, a beloved son, and a true friend.
Born and raised in Massachusetts, Michael found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was a loving and devoted father above all else, cherishing time with his three children, Macey (18), Max (8), and Maverick (6). Being a Dad brought him immeasurable happiness; Michael's children were his pride and joy. He loved Dad jokes, "Dad rock", fishing, dogs/cats/geckos, watching his children play sports, trips to the Everglades, and home remodeling projects.
Michael was a man of many passions. He found joy on the open water, taking to boating to connect with nature and use his engineering skills. Whether navigating the waves or casting a line, being on the water brought him peace and contentment. His mechanical aptitude and love for fixing things led him to become a talented engineer and all-around-fix-it-man, and Murph was always quick to lend a helping hand to friends in need. He was curious and an avid learner, most recently excelling at Krav Maga.
Michael graduated high school from St. John's Prep in Danvers, MA. After graduating from the University of Miami, he started his engineering career at Mako Marine building fishing boats, where he was proudly responsible for a boat seat whose unique design allowed for the maximum number of cup holders! As an engineer at Collins Aerospace, Michael showcased his expertise and dedication, leaving a lasting impact on his colleagues and the projects he pursued. Michael's work ethic was truly unmatched.
Beyond his children and professional life, Murph fostered strong connections with those around him. His sense of humor and genuine interest in others made him a treasured friend to many. His ability to listen, lighten, and lend a helping hand endeared him to his friends. He was fortunate to have had the love of two wonderful wives who gave him the children he adores, and his girlfriend, Elle, who made him very happy and provided loving support.
Michael will be remembered by his friends and cousins for his zest for life, as embodied in his dance moves, including his famous Running Man. Few will forget his legendary karaoke performances. He was renowned for his skills with tools and turn of phrase, which he inherited from his Dad, who he loved and lost too soon.
Michael is survived by his adoring children, Macey, Max, and Maverick, who will carry his spirit with them as they navigate life's challenges and successes. He is also survived by his mother, Mary M. Murphy, and his sister, Kate Murphy, with whom he shared a special childhood bond. He is pre-deceased by his father, Francis J. Murphy. Michael leaves this world with the love and support of many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and colleagues. He is sent off with love and licks from dog Sunny, cat Toby, and Spots the gecko. While his physical presence may no longer be in our lives, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
