

Miguel Ramon Calzadilla, 87, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2017, in his home surrounded by family in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Born in Cienfuegos, Cuba, the son of Miguel Andrés Calzadilla and Maria Eusebia Martorell, Miguel resided with his family in Plantation, Florida, for almost 50 years. His passion for life and commitment to serving others led him to pursue a highly esteemed career as a pediatrician for over 40 years. Miguel lived a wonderful life, which included traveling with the love of his life, Maria, and socializing with many treasured friends. Miguel was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He truly cherished his family and friends and was always there to lend a helping hand. He will be profoundly missed by those who loved him and were blessed to have him in their lives.
He is survived by Maria, his wife of over 60 years; daughters Maria Camp (Jim), Lourdes Calzadilla (Scott Saxon) and Ana Calzadilla; grandchildren Maria (Danny Scott), Michelle, Maddie, Suzie and Jimmy Camp; Miguel, William, and Logan Sewell (Jeanne); Arianna Lewczak; great grandchildren Andrew Scott; Lincoln and Everly Belle Sewell; and Riley Sewell.
Mass of Christian Burial for Miguel will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Friday, April 21, 2017, at 10:00 AM. He will be laid to rest at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery in North Lauderdale, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial donations be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church.
