Muriel Jeanne Gibbons

Muriel Jeanne Gibbons was born October 9th 1945 to Alfred and Roslyn Wilson in Brooklyn, New York. She attended Far Rock High School until her junior year where she then attended Hempstead High School where she earned her diploma in 1963.

In 1965 she met Reginald James Hutcheson in Queens New York and they were married in 1965. Muriel and James went on to have three children, Rhonda Henry, Darren Hutcheson (deceased) and Jonathan Hutcheson.

Muriel graduated on January 29, 1978 from Queensborough Community College where she earned her nursing degree. She then went on to work at various hospitals such as Long Island Jewish, Franklin General, and Rikers Island Hospital.

In 1990 Muriel decided she needed a change of scenery and relocated to Palm Bay, Fla. A couple of years later she met John L. Gibbons and they married on October 9, 1994. Muriel retired soon after, went back to school and received a bachelor’s degree in Theology. In addition to earning her Theology degree she also received a degree in Christian Counseling.

Muriel loved traveling to various locations and sampling different cuisines. She was a huge foodie.

Muriel is predeceased by Darren Hutcheson (son), Alfred and Roslyn Wilson (parents) Alfred Wilson  (brother). She is survived by John L. Gibbons (husband), Rhonda C. Henry (daughter) and her husband, Arthur Henry, Jonathan Hutcheson (son), Ellen Smith (sister), aunts Elaine Anderson, Doris Mask, Darren Henry (grandson), Devin Henry (grandson), Nieces LaShon Mcintosh, Krystle Smith, Nephews Ronald Wilson, Colin Smith and countless cousins. She will truly and deeply be missed.

Funeral Services and Burial will be held on Monday December 13, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Fred Hunter's Hollywood Funeral Home, 6301 Taft St. Hollywood, FL. 33024
