

Neil Howard Gifford, II, 44, died Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, after suffering a stroke, followed by a cardiac arrest. He had fought a valiant fight with metastatic melanoma for the past two years. He leaves his mother, Barbara Anderson, of Pembroke Pines, Florida; brother Christopher Wootten, Sr. (Melanie), of Hawthorne, Florida; niece, Courtney Wootten of Westerville, Ohio; two nephews: Christopher Wootten, II, of High Springs, Florida, and Jason Wootten of Hawthorne, Florida. Neil loved his surrogate family, Barbara, Mitch, and Jen Silvey of Hollywood, Florida; A special thanks to Larry Coxe, Hollywood, Florida, for his unconditional support and friendship.
After graduating from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, he enjoyed a 20 year career as a videographer. He had developed friendships with numerous people in the film industry. He has traveled to many countries to capture the beauty of this world, by land, sea, and sky.
Neil was active in the South Florida Pug Rescue program. He adopted Winston 12 years ago. Winston was grief stricken after Neil's passing. He also died, just 11 days later. It seems befitting to have the cremains of Winston scattered in Alabama, along with Neil. His hobbies included playing frisbee golf and video games.
He was preceded in death by his father, Neil Howard Gifford, Sr.; grandparents Barney Gifford and Natalie Cates, Birmingham, Alabama, and Mildred and Clayton Anderson of Verbena, Alabama.
There will be a memorial service for Neil and Winston, March 19, 2016, at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home, on Taft Street, Hollywood, Florida, from 6pm-8pm.
