

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Beverly; son David; brother Donald and his wife Karen; brother-in-law Ronald and his wife Ann and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lola Pearl and father, Elmo Murray, four sisters, Violet, passing at infancy, Dody, Doris and Carrol; his mother-in-law Fern and father-in-law Delbert.
He spent 1 ½ years in the National Guard and 4 years in the Navy. He returned to Nebraska residing in Lincoln for 13 years, moving to Florida in 1972. He retired from automobile sales at Plantation Ford in 2001. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved special trips out west with his brother, Donald. He enjoyed playing games on the computer and he was very good at winning. He relished puzzles, always appreciating a new challenge. He loved card games with friends and John Wayne movies. He took up oil painting after discovering a Saturday afternoon painting instruction on TV and actually sold some paintings. He took pride in his work around the house and was quite handy with tools and machines. His motto was "Anything worth doing, is worth doing right" detail was important. He loved his Church Family and activities at First Baptist and really enjoyed attending luncheons and entertainment at First Presbyterian.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Ft. Lauderdale, 301 E. Broward Blvd., Ft. Lauderdale 33301. Reception to follow in the Event Center.
