He was born in New York City on June 19, 1972, son of Pablo Hugo and Mayra Ligia (Arredondo) Espaillat. He later moved to the Hollywood, Florida area where he had made his home.
Omar loved everybody and was loved by everyone he came in contact with. He was known for his tremendously big heart and loving spirit. Omar was a genuine and devoted father to his boys who he adored. As a companion Omar wasn't shy to let all who knew him, know the woman that stole his heart. As a son he was gentle and warm, aiming to always make his parents proud. As a brother he was protective and selfless, wanting more for his siblings then he wanted for himself. To all his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that he loved dearly he was a shoulder to cry on, a hand to hold and a heart to love. Omar risked his own life back in 1999 to save the lives of a woman and her two children from a car that was sinking in a lake. As other bystanders watched, Omar jumped in the lake, broke the car window and pulled the people to safety. This is only one example, of many, of the special kind of individual he was. Omar Hugo Espaillat will be missed greatly.
Survived by his companion of 10 years Chonte' Jackson, four beloved sons: Pablo Alexis Espaillat, Michael Lorenzo Espaillat, Jaiden Alexander Espaillat and Julian Armani Espaillat, stepsons: Jonathan Angel Trevino and Jovanni Armand Trevino: loving mother: Mayra Ligia Arredondo, siblings: Jasmine, Jahira and Anthony Frias, Michael Ithier, Olivere, Jesenia, Jennifer, Barbara and Teresa Espaillat.
