Patricia McDonnell

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, December 14, 2020 at St. David’s Catholic Church. Father Steven O’Hala will be officiating. Visitation will be held at 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Fred Hunter.

Patricia was born in Chicago, IL on November 9, 1932. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School and continued to receive a Master’s Degree from St. Thomas University.

Patricia was married to James on June 12, 1954; they were married 39 years. 

Patricia worked as a secretary at the American Can Company when she and James were first married.  They raised 5 children and then Patricia worked as a licensed marriage and family therapist until her retirement. Patricia enjoyed going to the movies, visiting with family and friends and always had a book nearby to read. She served as the secretary for Hope School in Miami for many years.

Patricia is survived by her children, Cathy and her husband Mark, Mark and his wife Karen, and Will and by her grandchildren, Kristina and her husband Joe, Matthew and his wife Samantha, Katie and Kelly, James and his wife Cheryl and Lauren and her husband Aaron and Andrea. She also has 10 great grandchildren.

Patricia is preceded in death by her husband James, her son James, and her son John.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the American Heart Association.
