

Born in Troy, New York on August 5, 1931, the son of Joseph and Mae (nee Cooney) Vielkind. Raised and educated in Troy, Paul graduated from LaSalle Institute, where he was named class Valedictorian. He furthered his education at Russel Sage College majoring in accounting. Paul was inducted into the United States Naval Reserves and served five years.
Paul joined the firm of Peat, Marwick and Mitchell Company, where he worked for ten years, then moved to Massachusetts. Before his retirement, he was Chief Financial Officer for Carney Hospital in Boston for 35 years. A member of the Massachusetts Hospital Association and served on the Board of Directors at Labour Junior College in Milton, Massachusetts.
Both he and his wife enjoyed spending time in their homes in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Lakeville, Massachusetts. They were communicants at St. Mary's Church in Randolph, St. Martha and Mary Church in Lakeville and Assumption Catholic Church in Pompano Beach.
Survived by his beloved wife of 65 years to Louise (nee McGinnis) Vielkind, loving children, David (Barbara) Vielkind, Cindy (Jim) Simmons and Sue Rizzo, six adored grandchildren, Nicole, Jim Joe, Karen, John, Patrick, two great grandchildren, Landon and Maddox. His sister, Rosemary Margraf passed away this past March.
Visitation on Monday, June 27th from 4:00 ~ 6:00 P.M. at Fred Hunters Lighthouse Point Funeral Home, 4650 North Federal Highway, Lighthouse Point with a Catholic Prayer service at 6:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Additional visitation on Wednesday, June 29th from 4:00 ~ 7:00 P.M. at Dahlborg~MacNivin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford Street, Lakeville, Massachuetts. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. at Sts Martha and Mary Church in Lakeville, MA. Burial at Blue Hills Cemetery, Braintree, MA.
