My heart aches at the thought of losing a precious person, a good friend, a prayer partner, a  true sister.  As a traveling partner,  we shared some fun souvenirs  like the panic scene  in front of the Cathedral of Milan, that  special backpack deal, fun and fear of riding a camel ..., haitian style pilgrimage at CBNDF...many other gathering which  always brought  hope, joy and laughter to us.  Popo  will be remembered  and missed at our special friends birthday dinner, our prayer gathering,  or just having a friend to talk to, and someone  you can  truly rely on.   We may found  your life short, but you ran a good an fruitful race which we believe was pleasing to the Lord.  Va en Paix ma soeur, notre Dieu t'a deja accueilli a sa table de predilection.  🕊 🙏 🙌

Am  deeply saddened by the passing of Paulette . Her kindness, dedication, and positive spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of working with  her. She will always be remembered for her contributions,  warmth, and the joy she brought to the workplace. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family, friends, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.

Pau, connaissant le sens de l'humour qui etait souvent au centre de nos conversations, en Avril 2002, tu aurais dit "la fleur de l'âge" et moi j'aurais repondu "ou konn medam sa yo?"

En Janvier 2025, en pensant  aux circonstances  du rendez-vous de 9 heure ce matin, comme toujours tu ne seras pas en retard, il ne me reste qu'à dire "nous sommes vraiment poussière." Et toi, probablement, avec ton sourire espliègle, tu me demandes "se kounye a ou konn sa Carmel?" 

Ma chère soeur et amie, la fille cherie de ma mère terrestre qui te guardera toujours dans son coeur avec amour et affection, bonne route vers Dieu notre Père! Manmanm Marie ap kenbe men ou.

Bonne traversée au pays lointain ma chère amie,
Popo, tu étais comme une sœur pour moi quand nous étions chez les Sœurs de Sainte-Anne des Cayes. Malheureusement, nous devrions nous séparer après le brevet à la recherche d’une éducation prometteuse de plusieurs avenues.  Après cela, nous nous sommes rencontrées à la rue de Sainte Bernadette à Martissant où nous avons eu la chance de renouveler notre amitié. En faite, la vie nous a éloignées par plusieurs reprises, mais le destin nous relie toujours. Notre dernière conversation de FaceTime était le 30 octobre, 2025. C’était comme si l’une d’entre nous allait faire un très long voyage. Ma chère, je ne savais pas si c’était un adieu. En tout cas, je te remercie pour ces deux heures de temps que nous avons passées ensemble, tu me manques depuis lors. 
Mon appel de la  nouvelle année dont je t’ai fait le 2 janvier m’a bouleversé car tu ne pouvais plus me parler. J’espère te revoir quand le Seigneur m’appelle à mon tour. Parle-Lui en ma faveur. Je t’aimerai toujours, repose-toi dans Ses bras ma tendre amie. 
Seigneur Dieu, donne à nous tous du courage  afin que nous acceptons cette séparation. Que ta lumière brille à ses yeux pour l’éternité !

I had the privilege to work with Ms. Paulette Paul on South Wing 5 at Jackson until 2006 when I relocated to Georgia. She always used to call me Ms RN because my initial was also the same as my professional title. Even with the distance, we stayed in touch. I will always remember your smile, warmth and kindness. You were able to share with us one of the happiest moments in our lives, the wedding of 
our son, Richard, in 2018. I will never forget the time we spent on a pilgrimage in October 2023 to Dubai, Turkey and Greece. I will cherish the memories.
May you rest in peace my dear friend in the most sacred heart of our Lord.

Paupau, ma “ VIP”, comme j’ai l’habitude de t’appeler, ton départ pour l’éternité, ce lundi 5 Janvier 2026, a secoué toute mon existence. Je savais que tu étais très malade, mais cela ne m’avait jamais empêché  d’espérer des jours meilleurs pour toi, convaincue  qu’avec la supplication perpétuelle dans nos prières pour cette faveur divine, la chance te sera accordée d’évoluer une fois de plus, avec nous, au sein de nos 3 sanctuaires spirituels : La chorale Haïtienne de  L’Eglise Catholique St Jean 23, de Miramar FL ;Le groupe « Les Volontaires de Dieu  » ;  et Le Groupe Fanmi Pitit Manman Mari «  Humilité de Marie, West Miramar, FL , où nous avions pris plaisir à servir ensemble, Notre Seigneur Dieu Tout-Puissant. Hélas, ce n’était pas le plan du Créateur de te permettre de continuer ce voyage terrestre, nous acceptons sans broncher, sa sainte volonté de t ‘accueillir dans son Royaume de Paix, de Joie, d’Amour Infini.

Paupau, tu étais d’abord la belle-sœur de ma meilleure amie, puis tu es devenue, naturellement, mon amie aussi. Je garderai en mémoire nos échanges, ton rire même dans les moments les plus douloureux de ta vie. Tu fais partie de ces personnes qui laissent derrière elles une lumière, une douceur qui continue de vivre dans les souvenirs de ceux qui t’ont connue. We met more than 25 years ago as coworkers, a simple working relationship would grow into a meaningful friendship. Myself, Ngozi Maggie and Ayesha... Over time, shared responsibilities turned into shared conversations, and professionalism turned into trust, laughter, and genuine care.
Through the many seasons of life, you were a steady presence. You showed up—not just at work, but as a friend. You listened, you supported, and you reminded me, often without even trying, of the importance of  kindness, integrity, and loyalty.
Our friendship was not loud or showy—it was real. Built over years of shared experiences, mutual respect, and understanding. Those kinds of friendships are rare, and I was blessed to have one with you.
While your absence is deeply felt, the memories we shared will always remain. I will carry your presence with me—in the lessons learned, the laughter remembered, and the quiet moments that mattered most.
Thank you for being such a part of my life. You will always be remembered, and you will greatly be missed.

I want to extend my heartfelt condolences to Paulette’s families on this great loss of their beloved daughter who happens to be my friend. The first time I met Paulette was in Miami Dade College. We were in the same Class for NCLEX preparation test. Then we got hired by Jackson Memorial Hospital after we both passed the Nursing Exam. One thing I can tell you all reading this, is that Paulette is Smart, and highly focused when it comes to working as a Nurse. There are Nurses, but Nurse Paulette is one Nurse that gets the job done. Highly professional, dedicated to her  career to the last minute. We argue a lot outside of work on issues, and laugh out loud. She has a caring heart, and highly intelligent and dependable. Anytime she’s invited to my event, she shows up gladly. I am indeed sad at her demise, and will miss her greatly. I will take solace in all the good times we shared together, and her memory will remain a blessing to humanity. Paulette we love you, but God loves you most, and took you home to be one of his angels. My friend rest in the blossom of the Lord, and may your soul rest in peace, and may the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of  God Almighty rest in peace. Eternal Rest grant her Oh Lord this I pray. Amen.

Getting to know Paulette was a joy and a privilege. She was always so kind, thoughtful and joyful. Our encounters were filled with laughter, discussion and sharing. I will miss you Popo. May God grant you peace and welcome you into His arms. My deepest condolences to Gordon and the family.

Paulette joined me to celebrate one of my birthdays dinner event in Joe Crab restaurant in downtown Miami. And she had to go to her car to borrow me a slippers, for after dinner when I got up, my shoes gave way. I said to her and Nadage, how do I get to the car barefooted, one of my shoes strap just broke off,  and Paulette saved the day by getting me one of her slippers from her car. Thank God for good and caring friends like her.
