Peter Edward Baylis

Peter was born in Sherbrooke Quebec, Canada to Donald Edward Baylis and Margaret Felice Nowers Baylis on October 4th 1942.  Peter traveled extensively with his parents throughout his childhood and was educated in Canada, Venezuela, Jamaica and the USA. He ended up in Miami, graduating from Coral Gables High School. Peter was a veteran of Vietnam and served in the Airforce in Libya. He graduated from the University of South Florida in 1969. Peter married Elizabeth Leigh Mann on March 1st 1970 in Clarksville TN.  He worked as a Loss Control Consultant for the Hartford Insurance Company for 34 years.  Peter was a devote Christian and member of the Episcopal Church. Through Peter’s life he was involved in Boy Scouts and Habitat for Humanity.  

Peter Baylis is preceded in death by His father Donald Baylis, mother Felice Baylis and younger brother Steven Baylis.  

Peter is survived by his wife Elizabeth Mann Baylis, his son James Edward Baylis and daughter in law Bessy Meza Baylis and their two children Brent Thomas Baylis and Owen William Baylis. He is also survived by his three sisters, Marjorie Ann Thomas, Joan Elizabeth Miley and Heather Lea Prichard.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on June 14th 2024 at Greenwood Cemetery, in Clarksville TN.
