ADKINS, Ray, 78, of Ft. Lauderdale passed away Tuesday, September 8. Mr. Adkins retired from the Broward County School System after 31 years. He served the school board in many capacities including teaching which was his passion. He graduated from the University of Miami where he earned his Bachelor and Masters Degrees. He also served our country honorably as a member of the US Army. Survivors include, his sister, Louise Bagnell of Port St. Lucie; children, Janet Yager of Arab, Alabama, Paul David Adkins (Melanie) of Watertown, NY, and Mark Adkins (Susan) of Fort Lauderdale; grandchildren, David, Danielle, Jeffrey, Ellen, Martha, Lilly, and Malachi. Visitation will be Sunday 4:00pm- 8:00pm with a funeral service Monday 11:00am at Fred Hunters Hollywood Home, 6301 Taft Street Hollywood, FL 33021.
