

Ray was born in San Diego, California to Adolph and Helen Anderson on November 16, 1931. He spent his younger years in San Diego before the family moved to Cuba to be with his father who was serving in the Marines. Upon returning stateside, he attended and graduated from Eagle Rock High School in Los Angeles, California in 1950. He was a proud serviceman of the United States Marine Corps, is a veteran of the Korean War, and was awarded a Purple Heart. Ray learned his craft of hydraulics and opened Anderson Hydraulics, which he ran for more than 50 years in Orange County, California. He married Peggy Crawford of La Mirada, California on September 7, 1968 in Fullerton, California.
Ray is predeceased by his wife Peggy, son Calvin, sister Helen Louise, and brother John. Ray is survived by sister Nancy Campbell, children Bruce Anderson, Stacey (Phil) LaScala, Heidi (Mark) Engel; grandchildren Heather (Brandon) Anderson, Amber (Ryan) Cajudo, Kyle Engel, Erin Engel, Jake LaScala; and great grandchildren Eligh Hudson, Connor Hudson, many nieces and nephews and his two furry companions, Soli and Squeaky.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00am, Monday February 13, 2023 at The Church by the Sea in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. A full military honors service will take place in San Diego, California at a later date.
