Richard Joseph Burgess of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida passed away peacefully at home on December 17, 2020. He was 89. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Burgess of 68 years; daughter, BethAnn Bologna of Tampa, Fl.; son, Rick Burgess of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl; and son David Burgess (Lisa) of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Richard and Dorothy lived in New Jersey and Ft Lauderdale, Fl. Richard was a member and former Commodore of the Lauderdale Yacht Club. He loved boating around the waters of Florida and the Bahamas. He never lost his zest for life and adventure on the water with his family.Memorial Services will be scheduled at a later date.The family would appreciate donations be made to St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
