Richard Dennis Nelson, 68, passed away on Monday, May 19th. Born in Chicago, IL, he resided in Fort Lauderdale for 59 years. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; son, Tom and brother, Bob. He graduated from Fort Lauderdale High School and continued his education at Newberry College, SC and FAU, Boca Raton. He was a devoted and active member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fort Lauderdale, and worked in the banking industry 33 years in the accounting field. The family will receive friends for the visitation on Thursday, May 22nd from 6:00-9:00 pm at Fred Hunter Funeral Home, 718 South Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 24th at 10:30 am at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 441 NE 3rd Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL.
