Rita Israel was born on September 20, 1925 in Asheville, North Carolina to Zula Mae and William Herbert Johnson III.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of fifty five years, Luke.
Rita is survived by her beloved children, Randy, his wife Sharon, Bruce, Sammy, his wife Carolyn, and Jeff along with his wife Stacy. In addition she is also survived by her grandchildren to whom she was known as Nana; Valerie Tarmon, Jason Israel, Shelly Tribble, Sherry Mathis, Christy Repp, Lisa Vullo, Jennifer Huberman, Nick Israel, Alex Israel, and Ryan Israel, as well as great grandchildren Cory Tarmon, Dustin Tarmon, Leah Tribble, Tyler Mathis, Haley Repp, Lanie Repp, Mia Huberman, Jaden Israel, Kinson Israel, Enzo Vullo, and Giana Vullo.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Fred Hunter Funeral Home 2401 S. University Drive Davie, Florida 33324 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 10:00am at Hollywood Memorial Gardens North 3001 North 72nd Avenue Hollywood, Florida 33024.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to a charity of your choice in Rita's name.
