I grew up next door to Bob in Maspeth I remember the neighbors getting together at my house and Bob would bring his uke and sing It's Only a Shanty in Old Shanty Town. It was a good thing my dad bought me a movie camera at age 14, I have Bob singing Evelyn and Eileen on DVD now. Great childhood memories!!! I often think of him and sing the song he taught me often. Now he's singing in heaven with all the neighbors! Bless You Bob

We always looked forward to seeing Bob at Mass, with his smiling face and hearing a kind word from him. John got a handshake, but Kathy and Kristina always got a hug and kiss from the man who gave so much to St. Mark and it's community. We will always think of him when we pass the bench outside of church, remembering him sitting there after the Mass, again with that smile. This uncle of mine was the kindest of spirits! I will remember him for his warm hugs and great, great smile..and his bellowing voice. Robert's granddaughter, Erin, and I have been best friends for a long time. "Bepa" always treated me as if I were family, since the first day I met him. I've had the privelege and pleasure of knowing the entire Egan and Hineline Families for over 13 years now, and feel as though i'm mourning the loss of a family member of my own in Bepa's passing. He will always remain in the hearts of those that love him dearly, because there was so much to love about him. To the Egan and Hineline Families, may you all draw strength from each other and through his memories. Rest peacefully, Bepa. I love you!

He taught me how to deal with all kinds of people since evryone was a potential custmer. He taught me the importance of service to God, Family, country, John Hancock life, He was a man of faith,It all started with breakfast at the mall evryday.Very interesting man!

21 years ago when I was asked to take over the "bar" at the carnival,Bob was the first person to show up and offer assistance. He was instrumental over the years as we expanded what was once a one card table operation in the food tent selling wine and beer to the full service pub we now have each year. Also from now on the Pub at the carnival will be known simply as Bob Egans.

A giant of a man. A "renaissance man". Always had a kind word to say, no matter what the circumstance. A pillar in his community. A true example of a Father, brother,grandfather and friend. We will miss you, Bob.

Bob will live in my memories as the loving and kind person that he was.

No one could tell a story like Bob. I will from time to time recall a story that only he could tell and break out in a guffaw. He was a joy, a kind, humble and gentle soul, a man with a giant heart. He loved his family, his friends, and lived life to the full. I will remember him fondly.
