Robert F. Lo Piano

On Thursday, September 29th, 2022, the best man that I have ever known, Robert Francis LoPiano, was called home peacefully from his home in Hollywood, Florida. He was known by many names, Robbie, Bob, Dad, Pop, or LoPi; but at the end of the day, he was the Patriarch of our Family, “Poppy”. He was a model husband and father, and he left an impact on everyone that he met. If you knew my father then you knew that he would go out of his way to help people, give selflessly, work tirelessly to get the job done, and be there if you needed help, advice, money or just someone to talk to.

Poppy’s greatest love was to be surrounded by family, and if you knew him as a friend you too were family. He was a devoted Catholic and proud Italian. He also was a true artist whether it was engineering, construction, painting or tending his garden. He was an Icon in the South Florida Construction Industry and left his mark on the Skyline.

Born in Teaneck, New Jersey, Son of Joseph, and Elena Micone LoPiano and brother of Roseann LoPiano Terry, he is survived by his beloved wife Carol, two daughters Cammie LoPiano Brewer, Tammie LoPiano Gonzalez (Roger) and son Chris LoPiano (Dolores Wood); eight grandchildren, Amanda Gonzalez Allis (Jason), Tara Gonzalez Williams (Justin), Colin and Briana Gonzalez, Madeline and Ethan Brewer, Ruby and Lucia LoPiano; and three great-grandchildren Lainey Allis, Addison and Carter Williams. Nephews Tee and Tony Terry (Monica), niece Laura Bailey (Jacqueline) and the late Joe Terry (Angela) and many great-nephews and great-nieces.

Please join us for visitation at Fred Hunters Funeral Home at 6301 Taft St. Hollywood Fl 33024 from 4-8 PM on Thursday October 6. Mass will be held at Saint David’s Catholic Church 3900 South University Drive, Davie, on Friday October 7 at 10:30 AM immediately followed by burial at Fred Hunter Memorial Gardens, 3001 North 72 Avenue, Hollywood.
