Roy G Magnuson

He was born in Chicago IL to the late Neel and Klaus Magnuson. He moved from Iowa to So. Florida in 1957, and relocated to Ocala in 2005.

He is survived by his wife (Eleanor/Ellie) and his children Sheryl (David) Nielsen; Sharron (Keith) McCutcheon; Roy Magnuson Jr.; Randy (Wanda) and Richard. Also his wife's children Carol (Alex) Hetesi; Darrell Robertson; Janet Petrillo and Tracy (Jeff) Hauger; 22 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and his beloved 4-legged grandchild, Cinny.

He is predeceased by his parents, and siblings Elmer Magnuson (1990), Helen Wurmstedt (1994) Pearl Koslowski (2004); several nieces and nephews.

Roy retired from BP Oil, formerly Gulf Oil where he worked hauling gasoline all over S Florida for 27 years. As a young man he worked beside his brother farming in Iowa and then spent many years in construction.

He enjoyed his family and was a great role model to all of their children and grandchildren. Also he enjoyed fishing, building and flying control line model airplanes and traveling.

A Memorial service at Trinity Baptist church will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to either Trinity Baptist Church music ministry or Hospice of Marion County.
