She was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on August 4, 1928, daughter of Herbert Lee and Agnes (O'Brien) Stowe. Raised and educated in Bridgeport. Formerly of Stratford, Connecticut, both Ruth and her husband Raymond moved to Hollywood in 1960.
Ruth loved her family and always was very generous with the neighborhood children.
Survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Raymond F. Hampshire, two loving sons, Donald and his wife Sheri Hampshire and Ernest D. "Ernie" Hampshire, five loving grandchildren, Donald Lee Hampshire, Brian Hampshire, Scott Patrick Hampshire, Scott Thomas Hampshire and Lisa Ann Hampshire. Also survived by her brother, John Stowe.
Visitation on Wednesday, June 13th from 6:00 ~ 8:00 P.M. at Fred Hunter's Memorial Garden Home, 6301 Taft Street Hollywood. Funeral Service at the funeral home on Thursday, June 14th at 11:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will follow at Hollywood Memorial Garden Cemetery ~ East.
