Samantha Kay Engel, 30, of Astoria, NY passed away January 31, 2022. Samantha was born in Oklahoma City, OK and moved with her family at the age of 5 to Margate, FL. She attended FIU and Queens College, City University of NY where she graduated with a BS in Psychology in May 2018. She ran a tutoring business and enjoyed mentoring students. She also enjoyed dog sitting and walking in NYC. Samantha had an entrepreneur spirit always finding new methods to beautify herself and others through makeup and hair design.
Samantha loved kickboxing and soccer. She was strong willed and loving. After studying nursing for two years she volunteered in Ecuador working in the mountains at a medical clinic. She was passionate about the Latin culture and was fluent in the oral and written language. Samantha’s smile could light up the world and it will be forever missed.
She is survived by her mother Jenise M. Engel; brother Jacob Ryan Engel; Uncles Jim MacKillican & George Smith; Aunt Sharon Frye; Cousins Toni Frye, Ben Frye, Tiffany MacKillican, Renee Glassey, Justin Blush, Raven Savory, Logan Savory & Ryan Savory.
She is preceded in death by her Father Michael D. Engel; Uncle Don MacKillican & Aunt Molly MacKillican.
