It is with a heavy heart that the family of Santos Maldonado announces his passing on July 4, 2020 at the age of 88. The family is comforted in knowing that he went to be with the Lord and his son Anthony, who passed away recently. They are also relieved that he is no longer suffering. He spent his final day surrounded by his loved ones. Santos will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Yolanda; his daughter and son-in-law, Yolanda and Michael Juriga; his son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Beth Maldonado, and his grandchildren, Emily, Jessica and Nicholas Juriga and Andrew and Lauren Maldonado, whom he fondly loved.
Santos was born in Puerto Rico on February 21, 1932. He moved to Brooklyn, New York at an early age where he later met his wife Yolanda, whom he married on August 6, 1966, and had three wonderful children. They later moved to South Florida while the kids were still young. He worked in the food industry nearly most of his life. His favorite pastime was baseball and raising their children to enjoy playing the sport. He had a great love for his close knit family and was always surrounded by them. Santos will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, especially his family.
Due to the Coronavirus, a viewing will be held privately by his immediate family at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home. His funeral services will be on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Bernadette Catholic Church at 7450 Stirling Road, Hollywood, FL. 33024 and will be live streamed by St. Bernadette Catholic Church and School on Facebook.
