Shar-Ann R. Callahan, 72, passed away peacefully at her home in Cooper City, Florida, on October 5, 2026, following a lengthy illness. She was surrounded by her loving family at her bedside as she departed this world.
Shar-Ann was born on February 3, 1954, in Aberdeen, Maryland, alongside her twin sister, Alexis Lynn, to parents Jeanette and Jacob Rotkowitz. In 1955, the family relocated to the North Miami area, where Shar-Ann grew up. She graduated from Norland High School with the Class of 1972.
On May 5, 1984, Shar-Ann married Timothy Callahan, and the couple moved to Miramar, Florida, that same year. In 1989, they settled in Cooper City, where they built their home and raised their two children, Scott Ian and Chelsea Erin.
Throughout her career, Shar-Ann worked as a paralegal for several law firms, spending the last several decades with the Fort Lauderdale law firm Saul Ewing LLP.
Shar-Ann had a love for horses, the five English Springer Spaniels she and Timothy raised over the years, bass fishing trips throughout Florida with her husband, and tending to her beautiful backyard garden. Above all, she found tremendous joy in spending time with her friends and singing karaoke several times each week. Her love of music, friendship, and life's simple pleasures brought happiness to those around her.
Shar-Ann was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Jeanette and Jacob Rotkowitz.
She is survived by her loving husband, Timothy Callahan; her son, Scott Callahan of Cooper City, Florida; her daughter, Chelsea Callahan of Woodbridge, Virginia; her twin sister, Alexis Rotkowitz (David) of Jacksonville, Florida; her brother, Steven Rotkowitz (Mary) of Los Angeles, California; her stepson, Sean Callahan; and her granddaughters, Reagan and Rylee, all of Coupeville, Washington.
Shar-Ann will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her memory will live on through the love, laughter, and cherished moments she shared with those closest to her.
