

Born in Seneca Falls, New York on July 2, 1943, the daughter of Nicholas F. and Rita (McDermott) Berger. At the age of 15, Shirley and her family moved to Miami, Florida and later to Pembroke Pines, Florida.
Shirley was the former owner and operator of the 7th Avenue Pet Store in Miami, offering exotic animals, such as birds and reptiles. She especially enjoyed fishing and was an accomplished artist working with oil painting on canvas. She was also a certified Taxidermist.
Survived by her beloved husband of 39 years, Michael C. Detrio, brother, Nicholas Berger, stepbrother, Robert Kearsey, daughter, Darlene Turner, son Richard Robinett, two grandchildren, Michael Melendez and Reisha Gosley, great-grandchildren, R.J. Bernardo, Melina Gosley and Gyasi Gosley. Shirley was preceded in death by her brother, Barney Berger, daughter Barbara Robinett, two grandchildren, Sherry Maresco and Ricky Robinett.
The family will greet family and friends on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 from 6:00 ~ 8:00 P.M. at Fred Hunters Hollywood Memorial Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood. A Memorial Service will begin at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
