He was born in Takoma Park, Maryland on April 26, 1931, the son of Mitchell and Fannie (Richman) Shievitz. Following high school, Simon served in the United States Army during the Korean War, being honorably discharged in 1960.
Before his retirement, Simon was a Public Accountant with Gerson and Preston located in Miami and a longtime resident of Hallandale Beach, Florida.
Survived by two daughters, Wendy Bizzell and Sherry Leslie and her husband Tim Leslie, four grandchildren, Samantha and Mitchell Freund, Abby Leslie and Jacob Brady. Also survived by his longtime, best friend, Bruce Balkey.
A Memorial Gathering to celebrate Simon's life will be held on Saturday, May 26th from 2:00 ~ 4:00 at Fred Hunter's Memorial Garden Home, 6301 Taft Street in Hollywood. Military Honors will be offered at 3:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
Simon will be laid to rest at the Veterans National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Florida.
