Susan Childs

Susan was born on October 12, 1942, in Fort Lauderdale, FL, to Paul and Carrie Lou Wimberly. She graduated from Fort Lauderdale High School and later married Robert William Childs. Susan worked as a Title Clerk for King Oldsmobile in Fort Lauderdale and later with the DMV. After moving to Georgia, she was employed by United Community Bank in Cleveland, GA.

A dedicated volunteer, Susan gave her time to Grace Episcopal Church and Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA.

Susan had a passion for gardening and, during her years in Florida, nurtured a large orchid collection. She also enjoyed collecting antiques, oil painting, and basket weaving. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, sister, and daughter, known for her warm smile and quick wit. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Robert William Childs; her daughter, Jeanine Childs Macedo (Cesar); her parents, Paul and Carrie Lou Wimberly; her sister, Paula Conville; and her brother, John Carson Wimberly.

She is survived by her sons, Edward Pailes (spouse Martha) and Michael Childs (spouse Melanie); her son in law Guillermo Macedo, her niece, Sandy Anderson; and her nephew, Richie Leblond,.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd, at 10:00 AM at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
