Mrs. Susie Dickinson

She was born in Charleston, Illinois on February 1, 1948 to Charles and Lois Shoot. She was the 3rd of their 5 children. She went to Marion High School and was a cheerleader for the Marion Wildcats football team. She married Charlie Schafale in December 1965.

Together they welcomed two daughters, Tracie and Christie.

Over the years, Susie was a Brownie leader, worked as a bank teller, mortgage processor and ran a successful Amazon business. Her hobbies included reading, crafting, traveling and working with her orchids. She was a member of the New Horizon United Methodist Church. She enjoyed going to her weekly Bible Study meeting and lunch afterwards with her friends.

Her greatest treasures in her life were her four grandchildren, Trista, Travis, Tj and Tyson. She loved going to their football, baseball, soccer and volleyball games, graduations and competitions. She was their biggest cheerleader.

Susie was preceeded in death by her parents, Charles and Lois Shoot, brothers, Tom and John Shoot, sister-in-laws Mikie Holmes and Leslie Dickinson, first husband, Charlie Schafale, and her beloved daughter, Christie Schafale.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Dickinson, daughter, Tracie Burch (Tray), granddaughter, Trista Burch (James), grandsons, Travis Burch (Amy), TJ Burch and Tyson Burch, sister, Pam Mabry (Gary), sister-in-laws, Sonja Ortlieb, Renee Shoot and Lynn Cashton (Bill), brother-in-laws, Lynn Holmes and Bill Dickinson and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will take place at New Horizon United Methodist Church, located at 5741 S Flamingo Rd, Southwest Ranches, FL, 33330, United States. The service is scheduled for February 5, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
