as "Mum" and "Aunt Janey," passed away peacefully on
July 17, 2026. Born in Highgate, St. Mary, Jamaica, on August 10, 1930, she was the eldest of five children born to Simeon and Louise.
After moving to Kingston in the early 1940s, she married Edward "Luluman" Williams, and together they raised 10 children, 10 stepchildren, and a vast legacy that grew to include 19 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
A woman of deep faith and resilience, Mum worked for the Ministry of Housing in her early twenties, but her true passion was farming and gardening.
She anchored her family through hard work, daily cooked meals, and rich holiday traditions filled with love and laughter. She also loved traveling to Suriname in South America to visit her son and his family.
In the early 1980s, Mum migrated to the United States, living in New York before relocating to Orlando and later Hollywood, Florida. Wherever she lived, she delighted her family with her thriving gardens, joyful Jamaican catchphrases and vibrant personality. She spent her final years in the care of her son, One Son, and daughter-in-law, Kala. As the beloved Matriarch and guiding light of her family, Mum’s extraordinary life, enduring strength, and legacy of love will be cherished forever.
