
Mr.Timothy Lee Nix, 69, passed away on July 4, 2025, in Sunrise, Florida. Born on December 23, 1955, in Bessemer, Alabama, Timothy lived a life marked by curiosity, creativity, and compassion. A proud graduate of Calumet High School in the class of 1976, Timothy pursued his passion for learning by earning an Associate degree in Industrial Electronics from Bessemer State Technical College. His intellectual interests later led him to the University of Alabama in Birmingham, where he took courses with a focus on History—reflecting his lifelong love of knowledge and exploration. Timothy dedicated much of his professional life to The University of Alabama in Birmingham, where he worked until his retirement in 2009. His time there was not only a career but also an extension of his commitment to education and service. Timothy’s heart belonged to his wife of 36 years, Bambi McCravy Nix. Their shared adventures brought him immense joy; traveling together was one of the great passions of his life. Whether planning their next destination or reflecting on past journeys, Timothy found happiness in discovering the world with Bambi by his side. An artist at heart, Timothy expressed himself through painting—particularly landscapes that captured the beauty he saw around him. His artistic spirit was matched by a gentle demeanor and a generous soul. Those who knew him remember his kindness and the unconditional love he offered freely. He is survived by his beloved wife, Bambi McCravy Nix; one brother; one sister; as well as many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph P. Nix, and mother, Mary Louise Albright Nix. A memorial service honoring Timothy’s life was held in Sunrise, Florida.
