Timothy Benjamin Stark, 49, of Davie, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2024, surrounded by his loving family and close friends.
Born to Randolph W. Stark and LilliAnn Arp Stark, Tim grew up in Salem, Oregon and Centreville, Virginia, where he formed lifelong bonds with his two brothers and two sisters.
Tim was known for his love of adventure and the outdoors, enjoying activities such as participating in church, Boy Scouts, playing pranks, and setting off fireworks. He was an entrepreneur from a young age – selling candy, fireworks and baseball cards. These experiences shaped his early life and fostered his love for adventure.
Tim graduated from Centreville High School. As a senior he was elected prom king, and his high school years were marked by his exceptional athleticism, earning Allstate honors in both football and lacrosse, as well as being recognized as All-Met spanning the D.C. Metro area.
A defining moment in Tim’s life was his mission to Spain for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. During his time in Spain, he not only shared his faith and love of Jesus Christ with others, but also built enduring relationships while becoming fluent in Spanish.
During his college years, Tim discovered a passion for sales while working at Orkin Pest Control, where he quickly rose to become the top sales representative in the nation.
After his mission and graduating from BYU, Tim's entrepreneurial spirit and sales acumen caught fire and led him to start his own pest control company. His determination and vision quickly transformed it into one of the largest pest control companies in Florida. Tim would eventually end up selling to Terminix after just five years.
His entrepreneurial spirit led him to real estate and business, where he became a successful real estate investor and hard money lender.
Tim’s highlight of each summer was entertaining his children, nieces and nephews during the yearly family beach trip to the OBX, North Carolina. He was the life of the party – organizing glow-dance parties, trivia contests, Stark Olympics, cooking contests, beach off-roading and mini golf tournaments. He spent time building a relationship with his nieces and nephews and created lasting memories through fun.
Tim loved people. Through his sense of humor, willingness to strike up a conversation, and interest in others, he formed many lifelong friendships. Kindness and generosity were natural for Tim. His ability to see people’s needs and his willingness to help, led him to form deep bonds with friends and family. Tim naturally loved to mentor and lift those around him.
Above all, Tim found great fulfillment in his family. He was a devoted father to his four beloved children. Tim treasured his role as a dad and shared his passion for travel with his family. He loved and cherished his wife Yoalmis – who brought out the best in him and supported him in their many adventures.
He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure and privilege of knowing him. Tim’s light shone brightly in the lives of those around him. His spirit, love and laughter will forever remain with us.
Tim is survived by his wife, Yoalmis Stark and his four children, Kevin Stark, Nicole Stark, Matthew Stark, and Chloe Stark. He is also survived by his mother, LilliAnn Stark, and his siblings Marianne (Rob), Chris, Abigail (Darren), and Jonathan (Elizabeth).
