The only child of Fotula Nikolopoulos (Arcadia, Greece) and Philip George (Lindos, Rhodes, Greece). During the time of the Korean War and the Cuban missile Crisis, Vivian obtained Top Secret Clearance and worked as an Executive Secretary for several Generals at the Office of Special Intelligence (what is now known as the CIA). Vivian obtained her Associates Degree from the University of Maryland and later at the age of 42 pursued her passion in the medical field by becoming a Registered Nurse and later an Oncology Certified Nurse, one of the first twelve in the State of Florida at the time. Vivian excelled in her career and went on to start and manage the first Oncology unit at Biscayne Medical Center (now known as Memorial Biscayne), before creating the first Oncology Unit at Hollywood Medical Center (now known as Memorial South Rehab Center). Vivian went on to work with Dr. Michael Greenhaut in his private Oncological practice which later grew into three offices and three doctors, of which Vivian was the clinical manager of all three offices until she retired at age 75.
Vivian was a proud wife and dedicated mother and family member. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles with a pen of course! and enjoyed Opera, classical music and Greek Orthodox Chants by Father Nikodimos Kabarnos. Vivian was a well-respected and beloved member of her community. She loved her church and enjoyed volunteering and working in the background, not wanting any acknowledgement for her work and generosity. Vivian's dedication and devotion extended far beyond her family and friends. She always helped those in need. That was her true spirit. To all who knew Vivian, a profound loss will be felt. Vivian married James Nicholas Elios in 1953, in Washington DC, and later moved to Florida in 1968 to raise their family. They were married for 49 years until his passing.
