
William Herbert (Bill) Bunting, Jr., DVM, 79, of Ft. Lauderdale, passed away October 15, 2008. Bill was born September 13, 1929 in Willimantic, Conn. and came to Ft. Lauderdale when he was three. He attended Southside Elementary and graduated from Ft. Lauderdale High, Class of 1947. Since he was 12 years old he worked for local veterinarians, Dr.'s Kelly, Frederickson, Balthaser, and Dee while in school. He obtained his Undergraduate Degree from University of Florida, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State in 1953 and a Parisitology Masters from University of Florida later. Bill was in the Army Vet Corp. as a Lieutenant, stationed in Japan from 1953 to 1955. Bill owned Bunting Animal Clinic on Prospect Rd. in the late 1950's until he suffered a stroke at age 32. He worked for the FDA Bureau of Vet Medicine in Washington, DC until he suffered a massive stroke which left him paralyzed on his right side at age 39. After he retired he traveled all over the world with his brother, nephews, and family. He was very interested in US and world politics. Bill was predeceased by his mother, Adele Bent Bunting and his father William Bunting, Sr. He is survived by his brother Richard (Dick) Bunting, and his children, Christey McVay, Tracy Early, and Beth Bunting; his sister Beatrice (Beachie) Hall and her husband Harvey Hall, their 6 sons, J., Rick, Bill, Greg, Tim and Joel Hall; and 10 great nieces and 3 great nephews also long time friends Roger and Myrna Dance. A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2008, at 11:00 AM at Evergreen Cemetery, 1300 SE 10th Avenue, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33316.
