

Callahan, William J., 90, of Hollywood, FL. Passed away on January 12, 2010. Born in Chicago on July 11, 1919, he was a retired police lieutenant with the Hollywood Police Department. He was a Hollywood Resident since 1957 and a police officer for 37 years, 11 years in Chicago and 26 years in Hollywood.
He was a World War II Veteran and past president of the Hollywood Police Retiree Assn., an active member of the Hollywood Y.M.C.A., and a world-wide traveler. William was predeceased by his loving wife, Mary M., and his son, Michael R. Callahan. He is survived by his beloved and adoring family-sons, Daniel (Judy) of Boynton Beach; Timothy of Cooper City; Patrick (Paola) of Weston, and his daughters, Cynthia of Deerfield Beach, Mari Ellyn of Pembroke Pines and Jeanne of Tavares, FL.
As a grandfather, he is survived by eleven loving grandchildren-Sean, Paige, Scott, Chelsea, Brigit, Andrew, Shane, Corey, Michaella, Isabella and Patrick H. Callahan. He is a great-grandfather to Aidan, Bailey, Reagan and Christian.
Visitation will be held at Fred Hunters Hollywood Memorial Gardens Home, 6301 Taft St. on Friday, January 15 from 7:30-9:30pm and Saturday, January 16 from 6-8pm with a Memorial Service at 8:00pm.
