

William was born to Sylvester and Anna Savery in Brooklyn, NY, on June 29, 1927. He grew up in NY before moving to Florida in 1946. He married Muriel Higbie on September 6, 1952, in Hollywood. In 1944 at just 17 years of age, he enlisted in the Navy and served during WWII, as a member of the Seabees. In 1951, he joined the Hollywood Fire Department (Badge 19) and served 26 years. Once he left the Fire Department he continued service to the community at TY Park for 12 years. Having 3 sons, he coached Little League Baseball for a total of 12 years.
William is preceded in death by two brothers, Sylvester and Lawrence.
William is survived by his wife of 70 years, Muriel. His 4 children, Sheryl Bradshaw, William, Jr. (Denise), Scott (Chris) and Steven (Theresa). His 7 Grandchildren, Allison Bradshaw, Alyssa Stumberg (Jason), Kyle Savery, Karla Marrs (Andy), Kelly Dahlem (Brandon), Samantha Savery, and Zachery Savery. As well as 7 great-grandchildren, Everett, Claire, Casey, Taylor, Brooke, Preston and Cooper.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, August 5 at Hollywood Hills United Methodist Church, 400 N. 35th Avenue, Hollywood, FL.
