

Deloris Canellas, 76-years-old, died on January 27, 2015, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Her unwavering faith in God, the loving care of family and the love and prayers of family and dear friends supported her after being diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer in November 2014.
Deloris was born in West Virginia to Aubra and Garnet Spry and was the eldest of four children. It was there she met and married her loving husband of 52 years, Bernard F. Canellas and was where they started their family.
Bernard and Deloris moved to Fort Washington, Maryland in 1962 where they lovingly raised their two children, Bernard "Frank" and Georgia Ann Canellas. Deloris worked for the Prince George's County Board of Education as a school health aide at Oxon Hill Junior High and Henry Ferguson Elementary School for a career spanning over 20 years.
After retirement in 1997 Bernard and Deloris moved to South Florida where they were blessed to spend many years with their children and grandchildren.
Deloris is predeceased by her husband Bernard and other loving family members. She is survived by many loved ones to include her son and his wife, Bernard (Frank) and Victoria (Vicky) Canellas, her granddaughter and grandson-in-law Samantha and Michael Thaler, granddaughter Nicole Canellas, her daughter Georgia Maddox, granddaughter Aubrey Maddox, and great-grandson Ezra F. Maddox. She is also survived by her siblings; her brother and his wife Arvil and Sharon Spry, her brother and his wife Charles and Carolyn Spry, and her sister Georgia Spry. Deloris is further survived by her loving husband's family, her sister-in-laws Joyce Neese and Frances King, and brother-in-law and his wife John and Lisa Canellas.
Memorial Gathering will be held Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home located at 2401 S. University Drive, Davie FL 33324. In lieu of flowers the family asks for your thoughts and prayers during this time.
